pony prog "test failed "

i built a seial programmer to the atmega32 found in this link :

i am trying to test it using ponyprog , but unfortunately when i open the setup interface i get "Test Failed"

i am searching for any error but i cant find

We're good, but we aren't Oracles 

Did you try with a controller installed?
Did you try with more than one controller?
Which OS are you running?
Laptop or stationary?
How did you build the programmer?
Did you use a PCB?
Did you inspect the PCB with a magnifying glass before assembly?
Did you inspect the PCB with a magnifying glass after assembly?
Did you measure for connectivity where there should be and none where there shouldn't?
Did you try it on more than one PC?
Did you try more than one circuit?

Without this info, we'd just be guessing.

The answers you get will not be all that much better than the amount of work you put into your questions.

thnx for your answer and i will give you the info you asked for :
-the atmega32 is very new , i have just bought it from market and i really take care that it doesn't get hot (it is working and not burned)
-am running windows xp sp2 on a PC not laptop , and it have a serial port built in (no usb-to-serial)
-it built it on a bread board and i am checking it many times
-there is 5v between the vcc and gnd of the atmega32
-actually i tried it on one pc but on both COM1 and COM2 using ponyprog 2000 v2.07
-i only tried this circuit in the link , it is simple and i found it in many sites , but if you have another circuit u r sure it works i will be pleased to see it
