Title: Flame sensing

Hello members,
iam new to this forum. I need help from experianced people over here. I am doing a project with  a name fire fighiting robot. Te objective of this robot is to traverse through a line and detect a Canldle light ,Stop soon after detection and put off the candle light. I have methods for everything but iam not able to find a solution for detecting a candle flame. I want to make somewhat realistic so i dont want to use proximity sensors to detect candle assuming it as obstacle and then put it off. I want to use which particulaly detects flame . It also has to be economical one. Can i use IR ? , If so how can i ?? awaiting for ur valuable suggestions,thanku.

you should sense for light in the mid-infrared range, this is the thermal range.
