Title: Blinking Test Light only works when Programmer is plugged in?
Post by: corrado33 on November 22, 2009, 12:51:06 AM
So I modified the photovor program to simply blink the LED.  It uploaded and works fine... when the programmer is plugged in.  The only thing is, the atmega8 isn't getting power from the programmer, it's getting power from a modified CPU power supply going through a 5v switching regulator.  The voltage is (no surprise here) 5v.  So when I have the programmer plugged into the atmega 8, it works fine, but as soon as I unplug it, the LED will blink once, then it's done.  As soon as I plug the programmer back in, it works again.  (When I say plug and unplug, I mean plugging and unplugging the USB from the programmer.)  This is all on a breadboard.  If you guys really need a picture I'll take one tomorrow, but maybe someone will just know what's going on?  And after programming, the LED should blink with simply 5v power going to pins 7, 20, and 21, and ground going to 8 and 22, then port 6 (LED port) connected to my LED circuit right?

Please help  ???

HMMM... Woke up this morning... everything works fine.... hmmmm...
