Some recent projects
« on: December 16, 2007, 02:49:26 PM »
hey everyone . I've been busy building some expirements and neglected the forum a bit :( .. but I did make some videos of the stuff i built! i hope u enjoy them ..

Visual Midi Trigger
This is a combination of C# .Net app, Visual Recognition, Microchip Pic, Midi, and Midi instrument. I made a program that recognizes my finger and when jolted upwards, takes the relative horizontal position and sends that information to the PIC . the Pic sends it to the midi instrument .

K-9 in public
At the aero space museum where our robot builder meetings are held, there was a christmas party. Our robots were invited to spend time with the kids . and K-9 was a pretty big hit . everyone kept asking where the remote control was and the surprise on their face when i told them there isn't one .hehe

PWM Demo
I'm making a project and needed 10 LDR's to trigger 10 LED's . And the LED's need to fade away, not just go out . So the program handles them individually and the fade delay can be altered.

DIY Oscilloscope
I was bored and wondered how hard this would be. So i made it . It has adjustable delay time, sample time, center point, triggers and amplification. It's actually useable :) .. beware, i swapped the sin and sqr by accident when making the vid .

nice ideas

the DIY oscilloscope was pretty cool, though I've seen programs like that, that use the soundcard as input
Check out the Roboduino, Arduino-compatible board!

in the O-Scope one I think you switched your waves around. You said sine wave and showed a square wave then said square wave and showed a sine wave lol :P pretty sweet though :) I liked the LDR and LED thing, you used PWM to handle the fade out?

Nice! You just earned yourself some green robots next to your name ;D

Don't forget to do an air guitar! ;D

As for K-9 . . . for some reason it looks more 'real' when its out with people wandering around . . . is it just me? You've inspired me to make my future robots look less like balls of wire and metal . . .

thanx everyone :)

and admin, thanx for the robots!! i'm totally air guitaring like mad right now .

I have been doing a lot of work with K-9 , but nothing noticeable . I had some circuit boards printed that are universal for me to build more robots faster . I'm gonna throw a quick video up soon about them . I'm switching K-9 over to the new circuit board, but i'm having trouble with the drivetrain because i swapped the servos for DC motors and i'm using a L293D via PWM . I have to get the PWM right to match up the speeds to synchronize his head again ..
