Problems with my stampy clone
« on: January 26, 2012, 09:07:00 PM »
Hello everyone. I started my original $50 robot like 5 yrs ago. had a small accident with a razor blade cutting hot glue off the plexiglass of "sparky" and 2 surgeries later i kinda lost intrest. well i decided to try again recently and im having a problem with the stampy program. when my usb is plugged in from my computer everything works great. But as soon as i unplug it my turret goes to "180" (far right) and "Sparky 2.0" just spins in circles and my IR sensor won't detect anything. I copied and pasted the code exactly as it is and only thing i changed was the pin numbers. Im using 2 continuous servos for wheels and a normal servo for turret an an arduino uno processor. Any idias ?

hmmmm it sounds like a power/grounding issue. Check your ground and power wires when the USB is plugged in, and then compare those multimeter readings to when the USB is removed.
