Title: Switch Polarity IC?
Post by: silo_xtreme on February 20, 2008, 03:23:23 PM
I was just wondering if someone knew of an IC (or some other solution) that would switch the polarity on my motor wires.

For example,  I just want to modify a speed controller and see if I could put an IC between the speed controller and my motor in order to get that "reverse" capability for a "low cost"  ::)

if you want to reverse the direction of the motor and it's not a brushless motor. every motor driver should be able to do that. some use a high or low pin others use serial communication.

with no motor driver just theoretically if the mcu could output enough power for the motor just make one pin high and another low. and reverse that for reverse

I think I forget to mention, it's a 12V brushed motor.

Now whatcha got for me?  :P

no double posting please.

read up on motor drivers, h-bridges.
