Title: Beginner Projects
Post by: asid61 on January 29, 2012, 02:03:28 PM
Hello. I am a middle schooler who is interested in building moving robots. The projects that interested me the most are those about building quadrocopters or solar boats or cars. What would be a good project that is cheap-ish? I will be paying for most of the stuff, and I have a very limited budget.
I have very little experience with electronics, but my dad is very accomplished and will help me if I need help understanding something. Also, my neighbor is retired and makes large amount of electric projects, like airplanes.
Thank you for any information or suggestions.

I noticed a tutorial on Youtube about quadcopters, Basic Quadcopter Tutorial - Chapter 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DHoLYf5pMA#ws)

Hi,

I have very little experience with electronics, but my dad is very accomplished and will help me if I need help understanding something. Also, my neighbor is retired and makes large amount of electric projects, like airplanes.
The obvious solution here is to get dad to invite your neighbor for a cup-of-something and the three of you can bounce ideas around. You have a local support opportunity - use it :)

If dad & neighbor reach the end of their usefulness, you'll at least have gotten some ideas from them to build on and we can fill in.

Don't underestimate the value of face to face help.
