hi friends, im building a mini sumo robot and require some information.

what kind of motors should i use so that i get a very high torque as well as a good speed so as to push the opponent outside the ring

what kind of design and mechanism should i use. i am thinking of constructing a simple wegde but dont know what kind of mechanism should i use so as throw the opponent out of the ring...

what kind of tyres should i use so as to get high friction.the robot has to first complete a racing track consisting of sand, oil, water n much more to qualify for the sumo war.

pls reply as as soon as possible. the event is on the 30th.

OK heres my plan

find some gear motors online with a lot of torque  ( NOT servos , they won't have enough torque)

for the mechanism i'm thinking a just a wedge

my strategy would be speed  once the enemy is pushing your robot so that the end of the robot sees the line , your robot turns and quickly goes behind the enemy and pushes it off.

Now here are some sly techniques you might wish to use ( see if they are legal first)
1. Oil the wedge so the enemy has no grip on it and jsut flys over it
2. Make the robot really low
3. Make the robot out of materials that absorb sonar and absorb IR as to trick the enemy

also search google they have a ton of info on sumo bots
any website for your competition?

speeding can be done without the use of encodersmy logic is find out when the robot is very near to ur robot then just increase the speed

whats the point

why not just be fast constantly?

my logic would be when the robot is  close to you and the line , go around and push off
