Title: Small Scale Fluid Dynamic Software

Hello All,
  I am part of a research group who are trying to make fluid dynamic simulations of particles on the order of 10nm flow through a cell on the order of a few centimeters.  We are currently using the CFD Fluent and I was wondering if there are any other programs that would be more suited for this small scale simulation.  Also, if anyone knows if Fluent should be avoided for things this small any insight would be greatly appreciated.

This is definitely something I'd expect to find in the peer-reviewed literature. Namely I'm imagining lots of research groups getting money for trying to model fluids at the nanoscale. That of course also means the codes won't be friendly to work with...

I'm not sure there's an industry in nano-fluids to support actual commercial software.  I'm assuming that that (e.g. aerospace design) is what supports Fluent. If I'm wrong on that, I'd be curious to know.

You might also look into the literature for people modeling fluid dynamics in plasmas.

(I've also never used Fluent, personally, and did about average in my Fluid Dynamics course)
