I recently purchased a 16M 8-i/o pin SPI Atmel Dataflash memory
There was a sticker on the outer package that said:
Notice: parts are moisture sensitive. Bake prior to vapor or IR soldering to reduce the change for damage.
huh??
Anyone know how to handle this?

Hi,
If you are soldering by hand, you have nothing to worry about.
was it in a airtight sealed bag with an "expiration" date on the package?

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?

I haven't opened it yet. Its in a anti static bag, and inside the bag is an antistatic box!

If you take it out the bag and keep it in the open, moisture from the air will slowly seep into it. Put it into a soldering oven, the water expands to steam, and pop goes your IC.
Just keep it in the bag until you plan to solder it.
