Hallow I build the 50 dollar robot
I go to the electronic store near my house and they don't have ATmega8 AVR
But they have these parts
ATmega 162
AT90s 1200-12pc
Atmel 442 24C32A
Atmel 550 24C08A
Atmel 512 24C04
Atmel 648 24C16A
My question is :
Can I use one of this chips instead of ATmega8 AVR for the 50 dollar robot without problems?

Only the ATmega162 is a reasonable option. It will have pin out differences to take into consideration when replacing the mega 8.
The 90s1200 is an old chip. Obsolete, I believe.
The last 4 parts are not microcontrollers. They are serial EEPROMS.

The 168 will work but you don't have that listed as available but it is another part number to look for.

Do you have problems getting parts? I got 5x ATMega8's of ebay for ~$13 AUD plus postage, www.farnell.com (http://www.farnell.com) also has a good selection of parts, assuming you have access to internet trade.
