« on: July 20, 2013, 07:05:50 PM »
i just recently learned about graphene and its mircale applications
but i dont get why something discovered during the 1900's is only just being used ?

is graphene expensive to make?
-does it require large amounts of energy

It was difficult to make in commercial qualities and qualities.
That is usually the issue of get a discovery from the Lab to the market place.

Jwatte's post is probably the reason you've recently heard of graphene. (Wow, spellcheck doesn't recognize it...) The dvd burner method can likely be altered to massively produce it. Also, to my understanding, its use in supercapacitors was only fully realized when more people starting playing around with it. (since it became easier to make)
