I have resently begun in robotics and would like some help. My experiance lvl is just about ahead of attaching a motor to two wires from a battery pack. I was wondering if someone could tell me about a web site that could help me just basicly advance in robotics by just knowing more about it. I have looked at some robotic books but they just tell you the history, not things like how a circut board can be use or how to use one or anyways on how something works and how to wire something. I was hoping if someone could be kind enough to give me some leads.

have you read the recommended beginner tutorials? read every one and that will get you far. making the $50 robot will help you so much. google "beetlebot" which is a very easy robot that uses switches for wall avoidance. robot building for beginners is a great book. the website is robotroom.com and the sandwich bot is built in small parts throughout the whole book until you have a whole robot. it goes over soldering, safety, tools, where to get parts, multimeters and so much more. there is also a sequel which will advance you a lot further.

Thank you so much!! I was just looking around and i found the beetle bot as well! I was amazed at how they just use the motors them self as the wheels! Not really on the topic but I use to have a small paper plane launcher (my first design) that took two motors and one of them the extremedies broke out into my hand and it looks like some atomic design! I never really though an motor was made with magnets!

I agree with Mango, read anything and everything about electronics you can find. Even if it does not make sense now, something you read today may click in your head when you read something unrelated tomorrow. Or maybe it'll lead to a question you have that you can then research the answer to.
There is no easy answer here, this stuff takes time.

yeah, i re-read a couple of tutorials and picked up a lot. sometimes you will skip things you have no idea about and then you will understand more and more about it.
