3D Helicopter flying
« on: April 01, 2008, 08:49:26 PM »
Kind of hard to see in the video because its sooooo insane . . . but this guy is flying a RC heli doing crazy tricks in very confined quarters. Notice how its flying upside down 50% of the time!

Jeez   :o

It almost looks like the guy just dropped the remote and now the chopper is insane!  :D

I have a 4channel chopper and, jeez if I tried any of that sorta stuff my helicopter would of died a long long long time ago. They are very hard to fly (even on calm days).  :D

That cant seriously be real.... the main rotor would have to immediately switch directions to fly upside down wouldn't it??

no, but close... you need a collective pitch heli to do it. in other words, a heli that you can adjust the pitch of the blade as you fly. That way you can adjust lift speed by adjusting the pitch as well as with the throttle. Say normal operation is at 10 degrees of pitch. you could invert the heli and adjust the pitch to -10 degrees. neat, huh? PS, it isnt as easy as it sounds. that guy is really good.

Nice :D, how did he get it to fly up side down?  I have a $20 airhog from walmart and i tried revesing to motor but no success.  I'm guessing that he can turn the rotor blades around or something.
