Cleaning Wires

Hi All,
I have these wires that are supper sticky and dirty from being wrapped in sticky tape...
I have no idea how to clean them without making the copper muticore corroding, and making them useless...
How would I go about cleaning them?
There for a super secret project!

99% isopropyl alcohol (aka rubbing alcohol)

You can find it in any decent pharmacy.

rubbing alcohol is super cheap and will do pretty much anything with goo.
If that doesn't work find some 'goo-gone' or equivalent. that will take the goo off (as well as a layer of skin if you use too much)

seriously they sell alcohol at the dollar store.

Hi,

For sticky tape residues, benzine is good (far better than Isoprop.).

Lamp oil is not bad either, but it's slower and it stinks (can be cleaned with a strong detergent afterward, but that's double the work) - it's good for soaking prize tags and other sticky tags though and they will nearly fall off after a while, with a minimum of physical work (just make sure the thing it's on is not damaged by the lamp oil).

A rather fast and fairly heavy robot with quite large wheels needs what? A lot of power?

Use a blow torch. Watch for flies around, we don't want to kill the poor little things...
