Just wondering, but does anyone use the bx-24 or any other basicx micro controller? Just because i got some questions on communication with a pc using a serial wire and com1.
-
Well not many on this forum, I would assume, use that controller, but I'm sure some have. You'll find that almost %75 of users on this forum will tend towards AVR's due to the fact that there is a major support for them on this forum and the C compilers people like are FREE!
-
nope, most users on this forum are either with pics, avrs or both.
-
cool. The bx-24 is really nice though :)
-
Yea, it is, and it's nice to have a chip that is easily coded in BASIC, but I'd recommend trying AVR's or PIC's (I personally am a PIC user).
-
if you use avrs you can be assured you will have support from us ;D
-
Dang straight, I am going to give a go on AVR's myself just because there is all of this support here. :D
-
i started on avrs so im all good.. ;D
-
I may stick with PIC's for awhile more though... just because I got the CCS C PCWH compiler as a gift. So, pretty much if I get an AVR programmer and find a C compiler I like, then maybe I'll be one of those types who use both. :)
-
ok, but there is also lots of support for the bx chip they have a yahoo group :P. I think ill stick with it for the moment :).

It's definately about preference, but it is nice to have something to fall back onto, whatever the reason.
