Title: Making a jet propulsion system out of a vacuum cleaner?
Post by: MaztorShake on June 06, 2011, 10:50:08 AM
I have this idea for a propulsion system for a hovering robot. The thing is Idk a damn thing about vacuum cleaners besides how to turn them on. Do you think this can work. And if so how? I'll accpet links too.

Using an electric ducted fan (EDF) for RC aircraft would be a lot easier.

Maybe you should post some specifics about what you want to do.

Size of the bot? What components do you have? Where is your experience? Do you want the vacuum to keep it hovering? Do you want it to push it from side to side? Will you carry a load? What is the payload capacity.

Relatively powerful and cheap EDF systems.

How about if your not goin to help, then gt-heck-o.

Whoaaaa there internet tough guy, this isn't 4chan - we don't speak to members like that on this board. Please modify your post. The first 10 results of google were ALL using vacuum cleaners to make hovering (hovercraft) vehicles. Before you get fierce, maybe you should either post some specifics about what you want to do, or expect answers like mine.

Ight. Fair enough. My bad. I just been stressed out lately from studying for my 5 level upgrade.

As for my bot, its gonna be about the size of a basketball. And prolly weight alil more than one too.
