Title: BlueSMiRF Silver w/ Roboduino Arduino problems
Post by: offy on April 23, 2009, 01:04:29 PM
So I had a faulty BlueSMiRF so I sent it back and told them to solder it, so they soldered it, I got it today, it powers on, but when I try to connect it doesn't. I have the RX and TX from the bluesmirf to the bottom RX and TX ports by the power LED. And the power goes to the 5v reg power. I can't connect, I get pairing failed. Please help me.

Hi,

I'm notsure what your problem is, but if they didn't fix it properly, why not return it for a fix or swap?
When you buy a product, you shouldn't have to spend time repairing it unless it's sold as defective at a lower price.

I paid full price, and this is my second one that hasn't worked. I had to wait 2-3 weeks for this one to get RMA'd. I am going to try a few more things. Also now ardunio is having problems. It is missing some RXTX Java file or something. Running ubuntu.

--FIXED---
I fixed arduino program on ubuntu by re-installing all the java files. The bluesmirf is almost all fixed. I can connect, but when I send it a command it does nothing.
