Title: Cheap Camera and IR Remote

Hello everyone,

 I am working on a toilet cleaning robot. It is using an IR Rangefinder, Camera, and IR Remote & Receiver. I am looking for a cheap camera. If you know of one (around $40) leave a post, and please provide a website link. I am also looking for an IR remote. Will a tv romote work?

TV remotes work fine, but you also need the reciever in the acual tv for it to work

Can't you just program the remote to the receiver? ( I have a receiver on bot)

what kind of camera?


camera circuit, webcam , digital camera, etc.

I was thinking circuit camera, but web cam seems easier. But how would you hook up a webcam to circuit board? ??? Or is it a wireless camera thats connects on my computer?

tell us what you want to do, what platform ( PC or microcontroller), functions, how it does it .

Maybe I should have been clearer...

I am working on a toilet cleaning/security robot. I am using a camera for security, so i'm looking for some kind of wireless webcam (if that even exists) that I can view on my laptop if I'm at a hotel or something... For the remote,
for example, if I buy a remote at wal-mart or target, you can program it to your receiver in the TV. Press a button on the remote and...BEEEEP.It starts cleaning the toilets! What I want to do is use the same concept.

1. Buy a cheap remote

2. Get an IR receiver

3. Press the program button on remote

If that doesn't work, can you use the internet to send commands so that the robot starts cleaning toilets?

These are not two tasks I would normally associate with one another...unless the robot is guarding the toilet?
