Title: axon + blackfin troubleshoot
Post by: vidam on July 26, 2008, 08:49:22 AM
Hi,

There are no images appearing in the SRV console after connecting the Axon to the Blackfin according to instructions.

I double checked wiring, uart connections, power etc. Everything is connected up perfectly.

Not sure why no images do not appear in the console?

Are you using the version of SRV1Console that was configured for 38.4k ?

I just noticed you sent me an email asking the same question . . . just post your Axon questions here and forward me the link in the future.

I have not at the moment been able to get the console to work either, which is why my blackfin tutorial is still in rough draft form.

hgordon offered another idea using a CP2102, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

For now you will have to go without the console. You don't actually need the console, but its useful for debugging and focusing the lens.

This is the flow for the console:

Blackfin output -> serial -> serial to USB converter -> PC

(don't use Axon when using the console)

You can try the FT232 as the converter and let us know if it works. My last CP2102 fried, and I just got another a few days ago. But been very busy so haven't gotten back to it lately.

Note that my bluetooth and rs232 adaptor didn't work with the console.

Also, make sure you have your computer firewall turned off. The Blackfin console uses sockets . . .

The FT232 converter didn't work either. I'll order a CP2102 on Thursday. Also, my firewall has been turned off. John please try your CP2102 today soon for me so that I know whether I need to bother ordering one.
