Hey everyone,
I am building a 200 lb robot that will use treads. Will these two motors (specs below) able to supply enough torque to get up a flight of stairs, but also be able to go 10 mph on a flat surface? If you guys could give me an estimation, that'd be great. I am using this method of getting power to the wheels. The picture is attached. The top sprocket you see is the motor shaft. Note: The picture does not display the gear reduction I am using. Its purpose is just to show I am getting power to the treads.
Motors:
350 watts each
24 volts
2750 RPM (without gear reduction)

What is diameter of the driving sprocket?

With enough gear reduction these should move your tank.
You really need to work out more of what you expect this to do then gives us the specs.
How fast should it move?
This and the Motor RPM will determine the gear ratio.
What is the motors torque rating?
What grade do you expect it to climb?
There is a motor calculator in the "Robot Tutorials" above.
Since the motor web page says its for use in a go cart then it should work!
Do they give you any idea on how well?

I answered that above. I would like it to go 10 mph.

I just contacted them. Hopefully I will receive an answer.
What grade do you expect it to climb?
The steepest grade it will have to go up is an average flight of stairs. Approximately a 53 degree angle.
Do they give you any idea on how well?
I've used one of their 24v 250 watt motors and tose work great

Hi there,
to get Your robot up 90deg slope (wall), more than 4.5 N.m torque is required (with sprocket of 5mm radius). If You have each motor capable of 9 N.m, You are on the safe side.

Monsterscooterparts.com did not know the torque of that motor. Is there a way to figure it out with the facts they give me?

As far as I know, You can only measure it by putting pulley on the shaft, string on the pulley and as much weight on the string so that motor stalls (without spinning back).

They should be powerful enough considering they are for use in go karts and scooters.
