Robotics Kit for Education
« on: December 21, 2015, 05:54:54 PM »
I am an AP Physics teacher looking at the various robotics kits out there.  I am looking for a kit that leaves a lot of design and construction decisions to the students so they can wrestle with concepts of torque, structural integrity, gearing, etc.  I am finding that many of the kits out there seem to focus more on the coding aspect of robotics, and, as a result, they typically have detailed directions for how to put the different robots together.  Furthermore, the design of the pieces seems to be fairly restrictive as far as the decisions that can be made.

Can someone please suggest a kit that provides a happy medium between ease of use and still leaving a lot of design and engineering decisions to be made by the students?
