ok well im doing my second robot now....$50 robot and im really low on money and i have two mechanno motors lying around are they all the same voltage cuz one has smaller wires than the other...are they all the same? and if so what voltage?
ps: if anyone has an exact part list for the $50 robot plzz post it or a link...i cant seem to find all the parts...
and for the mocrocontroller do i need that little base thing if so where in aus can i get it...
thank you

smaller wires? shorter or thinner?
Also please post pics or part numbers, that will help us find out the voltage ratings!
-
ok the wires are thinner..the one has two wire in one and the other has two wires that are the same thickness each equalling the other...sounds odd hey..ill post some pics now
-
oh nvr mind i opened the motor up and it said 3/6V so yea thanks a lot man
-
no prob ;D

if by the little base thing you mean the prototyping board, you can find it in any jaycar store (actually, they have most of the stuff)
-
yea i went onto their site like half an hour ago and saw 2 parts dick smith doesnt have it was the 1 k resistor and the 16 pin D.I.P socket..

you don't need the DIP socket (the little base thing) but it usefull incase you shock the Atmega chip
-
is that the same with microcontrollers?
-
do you know what an atmega chip is?
-
isnt it a microcontroller?
-
yeah it's a microcontroller the dip socket is what you plug the microcontroller into. You can get the dip socket at digikey I reccomend you get 1.
-
isnt it a microcontroller?
you answered your own question
if atmega=use socket
and atmega=microcontroller
than microcontroller=use socket
-
XD lol ur good. i got double of everything for the $40 robot so....yea.
wait i got 4 sockets ;D

the $40 robot doesnt have a microcontroller
-
yea i know...im pretty sure the socket is for the h-bridge.

speaking of H bridges....
where can I get a DIP H bridge as a free sample, i just need one that can handle 2- 5 amps
whats cool is that this time when I sample an IC , I might actually buy in bulk later on for my new project which might be made into a kit .... **secret ** ;)
-
hmm why would you want a free sample when theyre like $1:50? go to www.futurlec.com if you mean n hbridge that will fit into a dip socket check the $40 robot and get the one from ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-
IDK about an hridge. look aroudn some sample sites for motor drivers. and make sure they're DIP before ordering

hmmm http://www.dutchforce.com/~eforum/index.php?s=f6d062b4b6c5037e61c671e6f913ecc9&showtopic=13348&st=0& that may have something in it.
