I have spent quite a while searching for the kind of connectors used in the wire connector tutorial: http://www.societyofrobots.com/electronics_wire_connector.shtml (http://www.societyofrobots.com/electronics_wire_connector.shtml). I don't seem to be able to find them in England (and I don't fancy paying £12 shipping from DigiKey) so I was wondering if anyone knew if they are called something different in the UK or know any suppliers over here!
The best I have found are http://www.rapidonline.com/Cables-Connectors/Connectors-Multipole/PCB-Interconnect/2.54mm-KK-PCB-Connectors/66414 (http://www.rapidonline.com/Cables-Connectors/Connectors-Multipole/PCB-Interconnect/2.54mm-KK-PCB-Connectors/66414) but they are quite fat and I don't want to have to space apart my headers on the circuit board!
Thanks for your help :-)

Hi,
I would have thought that you knew Maplin, who's got what you're after http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=YW25C&source=15

Yeah I have checked out Maplin, however they only seem to sell the fat ones like the ones I linked above :-)

Give them a call, or drop them an email, asking for retail sale - or you might tell them that you're working on a robot and ask whether you could buy some as samples (you might be lucky and get some for free).

Wow thanks! I will drop them a line and let you know what comes of it! :-)
