Title: IC with h bridges to high current?
Post by: oscyes on March 17, 2013, 01:40:27 PM
Hello everybody thats me again =) i am driving 12 micromotors with a l293d ic for a pair of motors but it happens that the internal resistance of the IC drops my voltage supply across the motors, i am wondering if there is any ic similar to the l293d IC  but with more current capacity or with less internal resistance i need to pass through the IC like 3A

thank you so much hope you know about any H bridge IC which can handdle these Amperes thank you

PD: i need the IC not to be so big i have size limitations =)

Have you looked at suppliers like DigiKey or Farnell or similar? Note that all the modern chips are surface mount, so if you're not good at soldering surface mount chips, you may need to get a pre-made controller.

Have you looked at Pololu? Here's a good dual-motor driver for 9A per motor: http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/708 (http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/708)
