with the $40 robot line follower. help

i dont realy understand the electronics part of it. like where everything goes. i am realy interested in doing this becasuse i dont have acess to a pic thats less that $35....can you please help me with that

a PIC microcontroller?  those cost around 1 dollar,  but the programmers cost some money!

hello all , i just finished building the $40 dollar robot , i have a question ! is blowing the blue LED a part of the project ? :'(after spending a day building the circuit , i plug it in and i blew two blue LED's ..too much power i am guessing ! .. can someone tell me where do the last four cables go ?i cant see where two of them connect ,,, i see one red wire going under the board ! and another going to the back mesh with the capacitor and green LED , i need help if anyone that built it can share his experience with this line follower!

If you have built the sensor board according to the tutorial, you will have 6 wires coming out of the sensor board. Connect the each blue wire to the wiper of one preset, as shown in the tutorial. Solder the black wire to Ground. Finally connect the red wire to Vcc through a 270 ohms resistor. This should solve your problem.
And make sure you are using a 9V battery.

hello all .. back again  .. well after replacing the led's and connecting the remaining wires.. i got it to follow the line going straight .. but it cannot handle the turns .. then i played a lil with the preset and the motor goes fater and slower .. but did not get any better ..now it wont even go straight ! .. i need help adjusting ! ..

made a chasis out of foam ! very light but looks good for a first robot

Adjust the preset. Even I faced the same problem for some time. But the trick lies in adjusting the preset.

Adjusting the preset for black line following - Place the robot on the white surface. Reduce the resistance of the preset completely to 0 ohms. Then slowly increase the resistance until the Red LED lights up, partially not completely. At this stage make sure your robot's motor rotates forward.

well .. i never seen that red LED on except when i tested it !
how about the second preset .. what was that for ? sensitivity ? or is it also for the motor ?

I think you have not gone through the circuit in tutorial section. Go through it you will understand the function of the presets.
All the presets are used to control the sensitivity of the sensor.
