Current Sensor Placement?
« on: February 11, 2008, 01:53:04 PM »
Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is doing great!

Happy New Year to any Chinese members!!

I am a little confused and hope someone can help me.  If I have a motor that's say 12V and a current sensor that can only handle  a max voltage of 8V, where can I place the sensor in the circuit to measure the current used by the motor?

Can I do something like +8V -8V to the current sensor and use the same ground as the motor?

all ideas are welcome - even if I am an idiot?  ;)

Looks like I just place the motor wire through the hall loop of the sensor.

Duh!
