Title: Moco pan head design: comments?
Post by: darkloaf on September 19, 2008, 03:48:43 PM
Hey,

I'm building a simple panning camera motion control rig.

I'ts all going to be controlled by an Arduino, ive got the motor all hooked up and working.

Here's a mock up of the design, do you think it'll work? Any advice to make it better?

You can zoom in with the magnifier thing.

I want to keep it simple, but I also want it to be mechanically sound (and work horizontality and vertically if possible!)

Maybe that's too broad a question.

What do you think would be the best matterial for the seperating plates (eg the plate the motors mouted on)? I was thinking some kind of metal, but I'm doing this at home and i'm guessing it's a hard matterial to work with. So plastic? MDF? i'm not to sure :S

Can you provide other views?

If you do the torque calculations, you can determine if it'll work.
