Microcontroller
« on: May 18, 2012, 07:51:01 AM »
I am looking for a drive to control 8 (or more) devices (120V).
It is for an art project. We have 3 air pump, 3 lights, and 2 fans.

I need those devices to run at same time but different period.
Example:
Step 1: electricity go through 1st device for 3s, 2nd device for 5s , and 3 other devices stay at rest.

Step 2: electricity go through 4th device for 7s, 2nd device for 2s , and 3 other devices stay at rest.

Step 3....step 4......v.v.

I don't know anything about robotic. I have tried to contact a lot of companies that supply micro-controllers, but most of them do not have any controller for 120V or they can only control 4 devices the most.

I really need to know what type of drive I need so that I can order.
Thank you very much

P/s: It's for an art project.

While you COULD do this project with a microcontroller and a few relays, it'd be much easier to just buy a product made for exactly for what you want.  They do make them, I'm just not sure what they're called.  (After a few minutes, I believe they're called "light controllers".  Look around and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

I was going to suggest DJ equipment.

You're welcome.   8)

Light-O-Rama can also do the same and programming it is very easy.  I think it should be cheaper than the DJ equipment.
