Anyone know where I can buy ~200+ microSD cards at bulk price?
No less than 2GB.
Its a bit too small of an amount to buy directly from the manufacturer . . .
-
Oh god, admin on another rampage... What sort of price per piece are you looking for?
-
Well, the cheapest non-bulk price I can find in a quick search is $5.50 for 2GB.
So I was hoping for at most $3-4 in bulk.
Just an FYI, I'm thinking buying closer to 500 now.

Planning something?

Search alibaba.com
Your quantity may not be enough for a bulk order, but what you can do in that case ( and what I've done in the past) is purchase that 300 or 500 as samples. say you'd like to order 300 or 500 samples and they'd be happy to sell you it at sample price ( which is pretty cheap).
Also, note that you'll have to sign up for an account on Alibaba and that you'll have to individually contact each manufacturer through Alibaba's contact for a price quote. Its a bit annoying, but they usually reply within 48 hours. One company may sell multiple types of SD cards, so be sure to only contact a company once.

Admin is obviously making sure he has enough storage in his camera/video for his next trip !
-
Hmmm I think Alibaba is exactly what I need . . . I actually have a close friend that works there, I think I'll IM her now . . . hehe

One day one of us will build a robot to seek out and find admin. Then we will know what he's up to!! All these secret projects and stuff (mumble grumble mumble) ;D
-
hundreds of SD cards, and a stack of reject Axon's, I'd say he's clustering something.
-
He's planning to store the Universe on microSD cards.

He's planning to store the Universe on microSD cards.
It's called the matrix.
-
The world's highest capacity solid state drive!
-
Or maybe he's looking for a place to store all those e-mails he got with "who is this admin person anyways?O_o" in the subject.
-
Oo o ooo oo oo I got it ! I got it! He's building a microSD card shooting robot. Then, he can fill the SD cards with a full encyclopedia, and unleash the POWER OF INFORMATION on his foes... :o That's gotta be it. ::)

aXon III is coming soon
The SD is for external memory, you will probably be able to store image data, maps for GPS etc and all that to be used from the AI algoritm...hehehe
That is a speculation of course, but who knows...Why not
-
After reading this, I've decided NOT to buy microSD cards from China. Ever. I'll stick to official trusted retailers only.

Wow, just goes to show... This remind anyone of the sparkfun thing with the atmegas?
-
It turns out that xrays showed that the bogus atmegas actually are something although it isn't a mcu.

Well, it could still be an mcu, just not one that works like an ATmega328 . . .

True but if you're going to make scam chips why make expensive ones?

It could be anything, really. There are plenty of old worthless microcontrollers out there . . .
There aren't many chips out there with that many pins and form factor that isn't a microcontroller . . .
-
But the goal was never to make a microcontroller. They wanted to make something that seems like it's a microcontroller.
So it doesn't really matter what it looks like, just what it is and it probably isn't a microcontroller because like I said if you're going to fake it, make it cheap.
-
It could easily be cheaper to just use what you already have and is worthless than try to make a new system to insert a blank piece of metal in it.

Yes, I'm a new member and I dug up this really old post. But I was lead here by Google while searching for the best/cheapest way to buy microSD cards in bulk, and there's no closure!
I've found a few sellers on Amazon for cheap, but they charge the same S&H fee per item, which makes me think there has to be a better way.
So, Admin, where did you end up buying your cards?
-
I never got any, I gave up. The cheap stuff were all Chinese, but I just read too many bad stories about them . . .
