Post by: SquallLTT on March 17, 2012, 08:58:08 PM
Hi guys,
I'm new in this forum. This is my first post. I'm gonna share with you guys a project that I did in the past.
Looking forward to making more friends here :)
Cheers!

Hey, Squall! Cool robot! It looks like you've got some great mobility there in that platform, and some clever ways to get over obstacles. Doesn't look like it works perfectly, as your video demonstrates, but what else can you expect in most robots these days?  :D

I see this seems to be part of a contest. Wish I had those here where I live. They must be great learning boosters.

Welcome to the forum! I haven't been on in a while--haven't had much to share (lately), but I'm glad I got on tonight.

What are some projects you're working on now?

Hi SeagullOne,

Thank you very much for your comment.

I spent a few months working on this project. I did try quite a few prototypes which didn't work. And finally came up with a design: 2 tracks and 2 legs. During the development process, you can see it failed to climb up the staircase as shown in the video. But at the end of the project, it worked almost perfect (99%), unless I forgot to change the battery then it will faint away during climbing up :D

Those were invaluable experience that I have when I work in my school. Currently robotics and embedded stuffs become my personal hobby. There is no specific project I'm working on right now as I don't have much free time but I always want to do something. Let me see how it goes :)

That is a really impressive robot.  I like the way you experimented with different limbs and ended up with a set that helps your tracks over steps and can grasp things.  I have never seen a design like that before and it seems clever.

Nice work. Definitely a fun platform to experiment with :)

What servos are you using in those legs/arms?
