Stairs..
« on: November 13, 2009, 01:37:34 PM »
Hello, this is my first post so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I was told today by my electronics teacher, who is an electronic engineer by background, that I would find it well nigh impossible to build a stair climbing robot.
So naturally I want to prove him wrong.
I'm fine on the programming front and such, but the exact mechanical aspect of it is more difficult. I will post a very poor drawing of my current idea soon (as soon as I get it done).
Any help would be much appreciated - I am however limited in processors to PICs, and either ASM or C. I am not allowed any video imaging or image processing devices.
Thanks.

Well, what decides where it can go is its drive train.
Look at the drive train of some stair climbing robots around the internet and maybe copy some?
Howdy

Recently I have been looking into segmented track robots
I think it would be cool but i have never gotten into it (also all commercially available tracks are pretty expensive)
heres a picture in case i failed at explaining :P

Just remember, nothing is impossible given enough time and money.  ;)
