Hello folks! Been a while since I've dropped in, thought I'd drop a line about my current project...
Thanks to the awesome tips on the forum and SOR in general, I built my first bot (ADAM, get it...har har) a few months back. He was amateurish, ill conceived, and didn't factor in the attraction to the Arduino I was slowly ramping up to.
In short, while successful practice, I felt I could do better.
Thus, ADAM MK2! (
http://www.darkfyreforge.com/forge/2008/12/adam-gets-a-makeover.html) Took a few tips from Admin's bot ERP for stability up front, swapped out the AT-MEGA8 for the Arduino Decimilla, and got MUCH better tires (they were actually round this time
) I'll compile a cleaner, more presentable look at the build after I clean up my 3D modeling and finish the front axle support if it'd be useful to anybody here. I know many here have built plenty of better and more professionally made designs, and hopefully I can get to that point sometime down the road as well.
If anybody has tips for the front axle mounting or a good source of standoffs for the upper platform, I'd appreciate comments. I'm feeling much better about this build so far, and I'm grateful to the SOR community for all the advice I've leached over the last few months.
Thanks for listening people, have fun!
