Title: $50 robot not coming to life
Post by: pomprocker on March 05, 2008, 11:59:16 AM
OK so last night i finished my robot.

The voltages all look good.

I am using the 4.8v battery pack and the 9volt.

the sensor side is getting the 5 volts, and the servo bus is getting the 4.8volts.

still the wheels aren't turning?

any suggestions?

Double check everything, if u think about it, the servos are the only way to see if its working, some otherparts may still be working, take a pic of it and post it

1. Did you plug the servos in correctly? The yellow wire goes next to the programmer. The middle is red. The outside is black. So yellow is closest to the atmega chip.

2. You didn't mention it, so did you program the robot successfully? Maybe there was an error in the programming?

That doesn't matter, as long as he has modified the servos with the code he doesn't need to use that code for anything else.

Dumb question but . . . did you plug the servos into the right spot?

Do the servos jitter when you plug them in?

Check the voltage on the servo wire itself (you will see some metal on the female header).
