Found these videos on Youtube. Got the guys permission to post the vids here. It doesn't have a lot to do with small robotics but its just down right cool!

I've been following his project since his first video.

I recommend reading the youtube comments for more info.

(I'm disappointed he won't finish that cool tree house he was working on, and that he won't post the design due to copyright reasons)

HDL_CinC_Dragon,

I had trouble with 7-11 but it might be connected to band width limits.  Anyway I went to his site and watched the rest of them from there it is posted on all of the videos but in case anyone doesn't want to look it up it is here at http://www.jamius.com.

His rant on the world sucks is interesting but I think he kind of goes off the deep end a few times.  I agreed with about 75% of what he said especially about self suffiency and being creative with junk,  conservation is good, environmentalism well thats just wack.  Just be smart about using your resources and hey plant a tree when you cut one down whats so hard about that?  I think he leans towards conservationism so he's cool.

Admin, He said that the tree house isnt finished yet, but he will when he gets back to vermont, which is covered in snow, so as soon as it melts he will go up and finish up there, I just checked all of the videos, they all work for me so im not sure...

No no, the workshop isnt done being built yet because the job was hindered by the snow. He will continue working on the workshop when the snow clears.

question: how can he live without any job, arent there  land taxes to pay, and gas to buy to fuel his generators?

He said he does work designing and building things for people. Thats where he gets his money. He was just saying that he didnt have a job where he had to go to some place at a certain time every day for like 8 hours doing "nothing". He does work for people though.

Geez I could probably write a biography on this guy lol

I love how it all starts...

Hi, I'm Jamie.  I built this little robot, now I'm going to build a huge one just like it.

So...I'm going to need a generator...and a welder...Hmm...I'll need a workshop to put all this stuff in, so I'll have to build that...so I'm going to build myself a lumber milling machine.

After watching all the videos, it's clear that the guy's a genius.  I just hope he finishes the robot before he starts working on that workshop again.  I can see his final video being him getting eviscerated by that milling machine.

For some reason building a milling machine to cut logs out of two tires and some bearings seems to be a bad idea...
All hail Rodney, the holy 555 timer
