Title: required reading
Post by: eightshot on July 24, 2013, 09:43:26 AM
Hi, I'm totally new to robotics. I'm looking for some books to get me started, i generally learn better from doing that from reading but if there is something out there that is like a step by step how to build and program a robot that would be ideal.

so far i have only read robotics for dummies but found it of little help.

Any help offered would be appreciated.

A good start is to read the articles available on this web site. Click the "FAQ" and the "Robot Tutorials" on the upper right of this screen.
Then do Google and Wiki searches to learn more details about terminology. Example: "RS232", SPI, etc.
Also, reading through the threads in the forums here will expose you to many ideas and methods for building robots.
Lastly, Post questions here when you really can't find the answer or ideas when you are ready to start building your Bot.
