sorry if this is the wrong forum...
I have been looking into making a standard board for the $50 robot. ATMEGA328P with 16 powered I/O, both regulated and unregulated (selectable) with caps (470uf & 1000uf), all 6 ADC, and a current measuring point. it has no xtal... (too small)
The board size is 1.21" x 2.21" (3.1cm x 5.6cm)
to buy a whole kit, it costs just over £9 ($14.5)
Thats the whole $50 robot MCU for $14.5 :)
Feedback is appreciated :)
i will post pictures later on, (im away from my camera right now)
Possibility of proceeds going into robot competition or to SOR etc.
anyway.
Give me feedback :)

Sorry for delay in posting, i have been out drinking with friends :)
I have also reduced the price a little, not sure on final price but maybe about $11 or $12 :)

It looks like you can fit a ceramic resonator in there (perhaps 16MHz to be compatible with the Arduino?) - that would make this board more useful for timing-depedent projects.

That is a very good idea :) i have never used an external xtal etc before so it should be a good learning experience
as a side note, I am going to have these boards professionally produced, it would be more sensible than large scale home production (and not much more expensive :))
btw futurlec is offering PCB manufacture, looks to be a good price

Dont forget to add some screw holes to the corners to allow for secure mounting
