is there any way to improve the grip of the wheel's rubber?

my sumo robot have a problem with the rubber of the wheel. it lack of grip that unable it to perform to its best. everytime i must clean the rubber before i can give it a demo run.. any way to improve the friction problem? thanks

Something us old-timers are aware of...
Go to your local auto parts store and get "belt dressing".
It was used on cars' fan belts in a time before toothed serpentine belts.  It makes the rubber sticky for awhile.

sorry. i like to ask where should i apply the belt dressing? on the metal wheel??

furthermore, i check on the internet. they say belt dressing make the belt worse. is that true? i very confuse now.

Given that I said "It makes the rubber sticky for awhile.", you should apply it to the RUBBER.

sorry to bother u again.. i apply the belt dressing on the rubber. its like abit oily.. do i need to wait for it to dry??

I would just let it soak in for a few minutes, then run the wheels.  After the oily film is gone, they should be stickier.
