Electronics / Help needed-4 Pin RGB Cathode LED
« Last post by ToyhackRobotics on Yesterday at 09:29:55 PM »
Hi everyone, i've been building my humanoid robot for a short while now, and at the moment i'm having a very hard time trying to successfully have 2 of them work in sync for they are the eyes for my robot.

I have 3 digital out pins on my robots brain, so i thought the 4th pin remaining would need to go to a ground source?

When i tried this i never had the color sequence happen with the 4 pin cathode led, with a simple 2 pin cathode rgb led they work great, but has been impossible to get them to sync.

On my rgb led's i have red, green and blue.

I'm using the ez-robot ezb4.

I'm not good with electronics, ive looked at google images and have trouble making sense of them, i can wire up simple things, etc but have never done rgb led's before, and this is my first robot so also new to robotics and programming...and currently using Blockly for my project.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Mechanics and Construction / Re: Actuators too small to simulate human arm?

For now I've used a spring assist for the first 2/3 of the travel.  The last third is pure drop.  This approximates the human propulsion, though a light spring for 100% of the travel might be a touch better.

If I do go to actuated propulsion (and lift), the specs will be much clearer.

Thanks for your help so far.

I can't see how robots deserve any rights. .

Did you get this sorted out? I agree with the above comment. Pneumatic is probably the way to go

2 200w wheelchair motors
Kisses, all the wheelchair motors I'v used with Sabertooth drives are over 400W.
I'v had very good results with the 2x60 drive with these motors.

if you power up the Sabertooth drive without removing or supplying power to
the electric brake the motor could draw +40 amps.

We have been working on our project for quite some time and now it's finally live. It's completely new robotic toy controlled via app on your phone or tablet. It's a robot which repeats after user in the form of an attractive bear. Suitable for both genders of all ages. The robot can be also used for learning songs, words etc.
Robot is powered by servo motors and a controller. All the brains of the robot are neatly packaged in our own app for mobile devices. Active Bluetooth connection enables complete control of the robot.
If you are interested, check it out here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/558941584/roby-dbear or here http://www.robotic-drive.com/

Feel free to ask about it.
