Got inspired to learn about robotics. When I found this site, i couldn't pass up an opportunity to get my feet wet on robotics for $50 (although it actually cost me more like $80 total). After a few trials and tribulations, I got everything working correctly. Here's my first robot (photovore bot). Looks like a crab. I give major props to my friend Glen Henke who designed and fabricated the body.

wow, well done man! its so neat and tidy! do we get any videos of crabbot in action?

Nice, 1 thing though, add bigger wheels, will make it go faster, a lot faster, you have like .5 in diameter wheels right now. Also please do make a video.

Yes it is kinda slow. Thanks for the advice on the wheels. I will post some video when I can get my hands on my brothers camcorder.

Kool i just started building my $50 dollar robot
i was wondering if you could give me some info on your microproccesor. Ive been having some trouble finding one
Like how much it costs$$, is it good, and where you got it thanks ??? :)

its called an atmega8 they cost about $2-$5, you can get them online everywhere.
