Title: servo to wheel
Post by: ltmhall on October 16, 2006, 12:19:32 PM
I am designing a mobile robot using a Basic Stamp II microcontroller. If I wanted to mount a servo motor to a 2.75” Dubro wheel could I just drill two tiny holes in to the servo horn and the wheel making sure their centers are aligned? Then place a 1” machine screw through the center of the wheel to the servo and screw it in. Will this idea work?

Sounds workable to me, and I believe this is basically what is recomended in one of the tutorials on the site. Of course your servos will have to be modified for unrestricted rotation if you haven't already, which is also covered in a tutorial.

Good luck with the bot!
