Title: Cheap Long Range RF Link
Post by: airman00 on March 19, 2009, 09:39:49 AM
I've been continuing my search for a long range RF link and found this
http://www.epn-online.com/page/new58514/atmel-introduces-800-900mhz-rf-transceiver.html (http://www.epn-online.com/page/new58514/atmel-introduces-800-900mhz-rf-transceiver.html)

Cheap too - http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=AT86RF212-ZU-ND (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=AT86RF212-ZU-ND)
Datasheet- http://atmel.com/dyn/products/product_card.asp?part_id=4349 (http://atmel.com/dyn/products/product_card.asp?part_id=4349)
But I can't seem to find an exact number for the range - only the words " really long range" , etc.  Anyone know of the range?

Plus it seems like it even has built in RSSI!

Range is typically deducted by the frequency, the power, and if there are any obstructions right?
