Title: Funding needed for $25,000 robot
Post by: B4119812B on November 01, 2009, 03:17:00 PM
This is not just any robot but the mother of all robots. My robot is entirely indestructible and seeks to be the FIRST EVER robot to take on 4 "Battle Bots" simultaneously!!! Just imagine the publicity your company will get.

                                            INTERESTED?

sounds a bit like a robot called mortis only that one was something like $50,000 and made by MIT students. to me mortis showed that near infinite resources and super advanced design don't win out on their own. the design needs to be clever and set within reasonable boundaries. good driving or superior automation are also essential. i'd be more apt to believe in a project that did all you wanted it to do and cost around 1-5 thousand.

Really lacking info, no offense but if i were an investor i would want to know every detail about the robot, especially if i was going to give up 25k... Do you even have any plans/designs yet?

why would it need 6 independent drive wheels if it's primary weapons are spinners? unless you intend to ram other robots, a situation where spinners arn't any more effective, then that much power would only be as useful as dead weight especially when someone makes a side attack at which point even 2 of those motors with a bunch of concrete would likely be just as effective. also if you're making your robot so big then why go for 4 hp spinners especially when you can buy a B&S etek rt for about $500 which goes up to 15hp? drive motors should never be the focus of a robot that uses a spinning weapon since the purpose of a spinner is to build up momentum in the blade rather then in a running start. you should really decide what kind of robot you're making before asking for $25k to build one that does everything but isn't even able to enter a robotics competition! oh and since you asked here is a link to mortis. it actually cost about $100k at the time.

which was outdone by robots such as 101 who took only $2 to make :P

Where will the robot be competing?
Where are the CAD files?
Where will my company's logo be put?
What are your site stats, hits, views?
How will you bring my company more then $50,000 in profit?
