Title: Cheap pin crimper?
Post by: Razor Concepts on November 04, 2008, 04:29:49 PM
I'm looking into a pin crimper, but I don't think it's worth spending $50+ on one. Will this one do?

Or do what I do.  Squeeze it down with needle-nose pliers, if necessary, and then solder it.

Thats what I do too.

Got two cheap 'crimping tools' siting in the toolbox - but still reach for the pliers

I bought an expensive crimper ( it was like $180) . Well worth the investment. Crimps pins in seconds.

I bought a pair of crimps from servo city for $20, and they are EXCELLENT.  They work well with hitec pins, and also the ones Admin recommends from digikey.  The servo city crimps are great because they are ratchet driven.

here they are
