Voltage divider vs Wheatstone bridge
« on: December 04, 2013, 09:33:02 PM »
So let's say I have a sensor that has a variable resistance. In order to measure its value, I can either place it in a voltage divider or Wheatstone bridge and then measure Vout for the voltage divider or the bridge voltage in the Wheatstone bridge, and use equations to get the unknown resistance. My question is what are the advantages of using a wheatstone bridge, if it requires 3 extra resistors, when a voltage divider can be used and only requires one extra resistor?
