Aiko's new robot hand

AI Bot, very impressive work!

He manages to control a robot hand using sensors on his muscles. He doesn't give details on the sensors . . . but it appears to be servos for actuators.

I think i heard "myoelectric" in there.

It's really impressive. What I think is most impressive with AI Bot is that he seems to be a genius in so many areas of robotics - robot vision, speech, conversation and more, and now this! It's so cool and inspiring that one man can pull off so many things!

Hi

Yes, those are servo.... Futaba micro....
I tried using Hi-tec servo... and they keep burning out... costing too much money. So I switch over to Futaba and Jr servo.
Hi-tec micro servo are badly made, noisy and they don't last long.

The currently hand is metal, going to switch over to fiber glass as soon as I save enough money for new parts...

This experiment should have done in proper medical lab, not at home.
It's getting better. Learning to control the muscle a bit better.
Still working on that 1/2 second delay.

Did some more experiment at McDonald this time.
Free Ad for McDonald... lucky them.... and yes I have to paid for the french fried and the coffee.
Should have gone to Burger king, maybe they would have given me free testing food. ;D

p.s. In case you are wondering that is Wal-mart Golf gloves, got it on sale for $6.
Fit perfectly for the hand.

I just wrote about you on IEEE Automaton:

(let me know if I should make any changes/corrections/additions)

Yea I'm having the same problem with Hi-tec servos. I'm going to swap over to Futaba for my ERP when I get time.
