Just got this in my email today. For those not far from Pittsburgh, PA, this might be worth checking out.

Hi!

Illah Nourbakhsh asked me to pass this along to you.  There are still some slots open for the robot-building Open Studios at the Mattress Factory beginning next week, if some of your members might be interested in signing up.

It's FREE!

The Mattress Factory and the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University present Robot 250, a series of free, hands-on robot-building workshops ? a chance for you, your friends and family to tinker, explore and create robots that sense and interpret your world.

Throughout the workshop, you?ll be trained on some of the latest in robotic sensing technology, robotic camera apparatus (we?re talking a billion pixels here!), and hear from some of the leading artists and roboticists at work in Pittsburgh today.

You?ll also try your hand at creating a robot that senses the world, and interprets that information (light, sound, pollution, weather) in wacky, creative and offbeat ways of your own design and construction!

Mondays, June 18 ? July 23
   or
Wednesdays, June 20 ? July 25 (no Studio July 4th)

Showcase Event for both Studios - July 26

6:30 ? 9:30 each evening
