I ran into this $90 centipede thing that is just screaming to be hacked:

See the wires at the top? Simply clip them, attach to a motor driver and an mcu, and you got yourself a robot centipede. If I wasn't in Bangkok I'd buy it. It comes as an unassembled kit . . . sooooo many parts!
