Title: picaxe, worth it?

Hello,
    I'm working on a hovercraft-type project, and currently have a picaxe microcontroller.  I've spent 90 dollars on the kit, so I'm hoping the answers don't come back no. I know it'll work for this robot, but should I look into getting an arduino, or something? I have the programming skill for it.

O yeah, also, any preassembled project boards? The picaxe kit requires the reading of electrical diagrams for the initial setup, and I'm blind (see the construction thread), and can't read them myself. Preassembled is best. Plug in the motors and be done! And yes, I know this isn't reality when it comes to sensors:-d.

In all honesty I'd get an Arduino of somesort, but seeing that you have the PICAXE and all the tools to work with it makes it the prefered choice. If you could possibly have someone to help you understand the wiring diagrams that would be a good method for you.

Picaxe is outdated, lacking a lot. After you finish your project you'd quickly outgrow it and find yourself learning a new microcontroller.

Definitely do an Arduino/Roboduino/Axon or some other ATmega-based board.
