Wifi antenna
« on: January 23, 2010, 09:01:59 PM »
So I have an antenna I got off wifi router (looks kind of like this http://www.amazon.com/Hawking-HAI7SIA-Directional-Antenna-Adaptor/dp/B0009WE9EW) will that work with a robotics wifi board like the ones sparkfun sells?

It looks to be a standard antennae hookup, so it more than likely will work with an xbee module (I'm assuming that's what you meant, sparkfun sells all kinds of those)
It should work will other wireless devices with that connector.

Any 2.4GHz antenna would work... if your receiver/transmitter is at 2.4GHz and if your router is working at 2.4GHz (which I doubt not to be working in this area) then you are ok...
